Swissvale Priest Gets 7 Years Probation for Stealing from Parish

A local man was sentenced this week.

The former pastor of in Swissvale has pleaded guilty to stealing funds from the church.

Appearing Wednesday before Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Kathleen Durkin, Drabiska pleaded guilty to one count of theft. 

In exchange for the plea, Drabiska was placed on seven years probation and ordered to pay restitution of more than $140,000.

61-year-old was charged in September after the Diocese of Pittsburgh told the District Attorney's office that they had become concerned about a drop in collections at the parish over several years and that

Fr. Drabiska had admitted to Diocesan officials that he had taken the money.
