Swissvale Man Pleads Guilty in Federal Cocaine Case

David Scott entered a guilty plea this week for his role in a drug ring.

A Swissvale man pleaded guilty Sept. 1 in federal court to a charge of violating federal drug laws, according to United States Attorney David J. Hickton.

David J. Scott, 37, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti, according to a news release. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that Scott's role in a Braddock drug conspiracy involved the intent to deliver both powder cocaine and crack cocaine.

Judge Conti scheduled sentencing for Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. Scott could be sentenced anywhere from five to 40 years in prison, with not less than four years of supervised release and a fine of $5 million.
