Swissvale Man Charged with Shooting at Girlfriend Taken into Custody

Suspect surrendered himself to Wilkinsburg Police Thursday morning.

A Swissvale man charged with shooting at his girlfriend Tuesday morning in Wilkinsburg is now in custody.

 

turned himself in to Wilkinsburg Police Thursday morning, according to Wilkinsburg Detective Sgt. John Snyder.

At about 8:16 a.m. Tuesday morning, Wilkinsburg Police responded to Rebecca Avenue and Ella Street for a report of shots fired, Snyder said in a news release.

The victim, who was shot at by her boyfriend and not identified at this time, went to the Edgewood Police department.

She reported she was being followed by a large maroon SUV. The vehicle pulled away from the curb during the incident Tuesday morning, headed towards her and smashed the front of the vehicle.

The victim stated that the man pulled out a handgun and began firing directly at her vehicle. It was struck several times.
