Several Arrests Made, Citations Issued During DUI Checkpoint in Forest Hills

Forest Hills police arrested 10 people and issued 27 citations during a DUI checkpoint earlier this month.

The department is a part of the East Hills DUI Task Force—the checkpoint was set up on July 12 on Ardmore Boulevard. Police made six arrests for people driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and four drug arrests. The rest of the citations were for traffic violations.

The following incidents also were reported to Forest Hills police:


July 13

  • A Bryn Mawr Road resident found a threatening note on his front door.
July 14
  • A ladder was reported stolen from a business on Yost Boulevard. The suspect also smashed a neighboring business' window and stole the frame. Police are reviewing surveillance videos.
July 15
  • A resident reported that someone in a van was going door to door trying to sell driveway sealer on Barclay Avenue.
July 16
  • A tree fell on a car in the area of Avenue A and Avenue E. It was unoccupied at the time.
