Regent Square Security Cameras Coming

Swissvale Police Chief Greg Geppert also discussed unlocked cars being targeted in the Regent Square area during a Commitment to Community meeting.

Swissvale Police Chief Greg Geppert said Thursday that will be installed in the Regent Square business district in the next two weeks.

Following a that occurred in Regent Square in , District Attorney Stephen Zappala met with local leaders and announced he would be providing the cameras, which could help to identify who is coming to and from the Regent Square area in the future to help alleviate .

Geppert discussed the cameras at a Commitment to Community meeting at the . He said Zappala also may be providing license plate readers for the area.

In addition, Geppert also reported that continue to be targeted by people who are stealing GPS units and laptop computers. He said recently, more than 15 GPS units had been stolen, along with three computers, all from cars that had unlocked doors.
