Public Intoxication, Missing Child Keep Forest Hills Police Busy

Here are the Forest Hills Police reports from June 29 to July 3.

The following incidents were reported to the Forest Hills Police Department:

June 29

  • Police assisted the Braddock Hills Police Department in a search for a missing 3-year-old boy. The young boy was found in Good Shepherd Cemetery and returned to his mother.

  • A noise complaint was called concerning a high school graduation party at the corner of Hawthorne and Castlegate Roads. Police asked residents to turn down the their music.

  • An intoxicated man, who recently moved to Forest Hills, was picked up by police at the Roman Bistro. The man was not disorderly and had done nothing wrong but was too intoxicated to make his way home alone. After allowing him to sober up at the station, police drove the man home.

  • A tree limb fell on a vehicle at 12 Bryn Mawr Road. The limb cracked the front windshield and damaged the passenger side roof.   

  • July 1

    • A woman called police when she discovered her left rear tire was flat and a pair of scissors were stuck in her rear bumper. It appeared that she ran over the scissors possibly when driving down the Greensburg Pike.

    July 2

    • One car rear ended another in the Drew’s Restaurant parking lot. Both cars had only minor damage and were driveable. There were no injuries.

    • Police followed and stopped a Silver Chevrolet suspected by Wilkinsburg Police to be part of a shooting at Princeton Boulevard. The driver of the car was evasive during questioning and had what looked like a fresh gunshot in the passenger side of the car.

    July 3

    • Forest Hills and Braddock Hills Police cited a woman for public intoxication and escorted her home after she was found laying on the ground on the corner of Wilkins Ave. and Park Ave.

    • A 3-year-old boy was accidentally locked inside a car along with his father’s car keys. Police and the fire department were able to unlock the vehicle and get the boy out.
