NEARBY: Two Women, Toddler Shot in East Hills

A 19-month-old was shot and killed on Tuesday.

Pittsburgh police are investigating a triple shooting in the East Hills.

On Tuesday, Zone 5 officers responded to a 911 call for someone shot in the 2300 block of East Hills Drive just after 7:30 p.m. On arrival, police found two females—ages 19 and 20—and a 19-month-old toddler had been shot.  

The female victims were take to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and the toddler to UPMC Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to police, the 19-year-old underwent surgery for her wounds and is listed in serious but stable condition. The 20-year-old was shot in the back and chest. She is in critical condition.

Homicide detectives reported that the two women and toddler were attending some sort of picnic/cookout in a common area on East Hills Drive. According to police, three unknown gunmen got out of a vehicle and started shooting at the crowd.

Detectives do not believe that the victims were the intended target. 

No arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 412-323-7161. Callers may remain anonymous.
