A man on the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office's Top 20 Most Wanted Criminals list was arrested in Forest Hills last week.

On June 10, police on patrol saw two suspicious men at the Cash Checking store at the Ardmore Shopping Center on Ardmore Boulevard. One of the men was James Shifter, 36, of Bellevue, who was wanted on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a crime instrument with intent, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

When confronted, Shifter gave police a false name and was carrying a bookbag with suspected drugs and paraphernalia, according to the police report. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail, and Forest Hills police issued a disorderly conduct citation for the drug paraphernalia.
