Judge Hoots Hears Gun, Drug & DUI Cases

Here's a look at the cases heard by Wilkinsburg Judge Kim Hoots last week.

The following cases were heard by Wilkinsburg Judge Kim Hoots on April 18:

  • Aaron Tipton, 20, of Penn Hills waived a preliminary hearing on charges of firearm not to be carried without a license, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges after a March 19 incident on Elm Street. Tipton led police on a foot chase and is accused of having a stolen gun.
  • Marlove Coleman, 30, of Wilkinsburg waived a preliminary hearing on charges of improper movements at a traffic signal and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. A charge of driving with a suspended license was withdrawn. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges after a Jan. 16 incident on Wood Street.
  • Adam Joseph Getty, 29, of Edensburg waived a preliminary hearing on intent to possess a controlled substance. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges after a traffic stop on Aug. 26, 2011.
