Judge Caulfield Hears DUI Cases

Forest Hills District Justice Thomas Caulfield heard the following cases on July 10:

  • Sydney L. Hopson Jr., 27, of Pittsburgh, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving with a suspended license and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and turning were withdrawn. Swissvale police filed the charges after an April 5 incident on Noble Street.
  • Herman Larkins, 51, of Ingram, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and speeding. Swissvale police filed the charges after a May 27 incident on South Braddock Avenue.
  • Venkatesh Narayan, 31, of Monroeville, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of careless driving and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Charges of diregarding a traffic lane, speeding, and exceeding the speed limit by 10 miles per hour were withdrawn. State police filed the charges after a Feb. 6 incident on the Parkway East.
