Hoots Handles Assault, Harassment Cases in Wilkinsburg Courtroom

Judge Kim M. Hoots holds two men for court, another waives preliminary hearing.

District Judge Kim M. Hoots handled the following cases in her Wilkinsburg courtroom on Oct. 11:

  • Marc Anthony Nelson, 43, was held for court on charges of disorderly conduct-hazardous/physical offense, harassment-subject other to physical contact and three counts of criminal mischief/tamper with property, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another in connection with an incident on Oct. 4 in the 2200 block of Laketon Road in Wilkinsburg. Among other things, Nelson slashed $1,200 worth of tires on a car. Wilkinsburg police filed the charges.
  • Nelson was also held for court on a charge of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another for a related incident on Oct. 4. Wilkinsburg police also filed this charge.
  • Derick R. Summers, 54, of 701 Helena St., North Braddock, was held for court on a charge of retail theft-taking merchandise for an incident Sept. 21 at the Giant Eagle in Edgewood Towne Centre. Edgewood police filed the charges after the store's loss prevention officer reported that Summers put two bottles of Eucerin lotion valued at $25.66 in a canvas bag, then exited the store without paying.
  • Dennis Richardson, 54, of 643 Princeton Blvd., Wilkinsburg waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault and harassment-subject other to physical contact in connection with an incident on Oct. 5 at that address.
