Frick Park Visitors On Edge After Reports of Violence

Pittsburgh Trails Advocacy Group issued a warning on its Facebook page Friday.

Some Frick Park visitors are using vigilance after a Facebook warning from the Pittsburgh Trails Advocacy Group and a report of a pregnant woman attacked.

"Got a call from the Pgh. Parks Conservancy to advise folks using the trails in Frick Park to be aware of a hatchet-wielding homeless person who attacked a mountain biker on the Iron Grate Trail. The police have been notified. Please be careful!" the Pittsburgh Trails Advocacy Group posted on its Facebook page on Friday.

It clarified that the Iron Gate Trail head is located behind the park maintenance buildings by the blue slide playground.
