Former Woodland Hills Quarterback Charged in McKeesport Shooting

Vondre Griffin faces charges in the death of Tameko Wall on Sunday.

Vondre Griffin, 23, a former quarterback, was one of two men arrested in connection with a fatal shooting outside the after-hours Sportsman's Club early Sunday morning in McKeesport.

Police said Tameko Wall, 37, was killed after gun shots were fired at a parking lot right outside the club, also known as Pav's Tavern, behind the Route 148 Carwash around 3 a.m.

WPXI reported that moments after the shooting, authorities said witnesses were able to point out Griffin as a suspect. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.

Griffin, a 2007 graduate, was a standout for the Wolverines and was recruited to play football for Kent State, where he was listed as a defensive back.
