Vondre Bahel Griffin, 23, of Braddock will stand trial in connection with the shooting death of Tameko Wall, 37,
Magisterial District Judge Beth S. Mills held Griffin for court on charges of criminal homicide and carrying firearms without a license. Griffin was denied bail and is being held in Allegheny County Jail.
The Post-Gazette reported that Wall was shot in the head outside the Sportsman's Club, also known as Pav's Tavern, on Fifth Avenue in McKeesport.
Allegheny County homicide detective Patrick Kinavey testified Griffin told investigators he fired several shots after being backed against a wall by three men outside the bar by a car wash, according to a story in the McKeesport Daily News.
Griffin, a 2007 graduate of Woodland Hills High School, was a quarterback for the Wolverines. He was recruited to play at Kent State, where he was listed as a defensive back.
