False ID, Firearms, Burglary and DUI Among Court Cases

District Judge Kim M. Hoots hears several cases last week in her Wilkinsburg courtroom.

District Judge Kim M. Hoots heard the following cases in her Wilkinsburg courtroom last week:

  • Dante D. Cincotta, 26, of Pittsburgh waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of receiving stolen property in connection with a break-in at an apartment in the 1300 block of S. Braddock Ave. in on May 17. Jewelry worth $1,500 was taken from the apartment. Charges of criminal trespass, burglary and criminal attempt-burglary were dismissed. Charges were filed by Edgewood police. 
  • Charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, receiving stolen property, possession of firearm prohibited and public drunkenness filed against Monsoon Lewis, 39, of Wilkinsburg were held for court. The charges filed by Wilkinsburg police stem from an incident involving a gun in the 1500 block of Hunter Street, Wilkinsburg, on May 31.
  • Charges against Timothy John Skundrich, 22, of North Huntingdon were held for court, including driving under the influence (general impairment/incapable of driving safely, first offense), driving under the influence (highest rate of alcohol, blood alcohol content .16+, first offense), disorderly conduct, failure to drive on the right side of the road and careless driving. The charges were filed by Wilkinsburg police on Aug. 21 after a traffic stop in the 400 block of Penn Avenue near West Street.
  • Charges filed against Nerea Williams, 20, of Pittsburgh were held for court, including providing false identification to law enforcement, hindering apprehension, prohibited acts/intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered. police filed the charges after a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Swissvale Avenue on Aug. 31.
