Edgewood Police Respond to Burglary, Kmart Thefts

  • Nikkia Bostick was pulled over for an expired registration and was found to have several warrants out of Turtle Creek.
  • Police responded to a retail theft complaint at after two juveniles attempted to take $11.98 worth of Fruit of the Loom T-shirts. Kmart is handling it.
  • Police assisted on a medical call.
  • Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Center Street. Nothing was found.
  • Police responded to an open door report at Koenig Field. All cleared.

May 15

  • Anthony Skaro was stopped while driving a Honda pickup while under suspension. The vehicle was towed.
  • Police responded to a retail theft at Giant Eagle. The store will handle the case.
  • Police assisted on a medical call.
  • Police responded to a hit and run report after a parked car was hit by another vehicle near First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood.
  • Police responded to a report of retail theft at the Edgewood Towne Center Wine and Spirits store after three women stole a bottle of rum and left in a Chevy Malibu.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers in capturing a homicide suspect in the 1000 block of Franklin. A gun and extra clips also were recovered.
  • A man and woman were reportedly arguing over ownership of a car at 102 Elm Street. Both parties were advised.
  • Rankin police recovered a stolen Toyota from West Hutchinson. The crime lab was notified to check for prints.

  • Police responded to a report of retail theft at Kmart. Donna J. Slepak attempted to take 21 items of clothing valued at $226.98. She was found to have two warrants out for her arrest for failure to appear in court and was taken to Allegheny County Jai via the sheriff’s department.
  • Michael Kochis and Saverio Marino were arrested in the Edgewood Towne Center Parking lot after being witnessed shooting heroin.

May 17

  • Edgewood police assisted state police with an accident on the Parkway.
  • Timothy Barth was charged with forgery, fraud, retail theft, access device fraud and disorderly conduct.
  • Police responded to a burglary report on South Braddock Avenue. The victim stated that there was a handprint on her apartment window and she later found $1,700 in jewelry missing. The window was unlocked.
  • Rashidi Kabogota was arrested for public intoxication after he was found drinking across from the police department.
  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers with a DUI arrest after Kenneth Lee had a blood alcohol content of .147 percent, according to a breath test.

  • Police responded to a robbery and assault on Center Street. The victim was reportedly assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Wayne Smith, who then stole a pre-paid black cell phone and fled the scene. A warrant is out for his arrest.

  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers on a domestic dispute call.
  • Police responded to a false alarm at Total Pet.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a report of a car that crashed into a tree.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a burglary report on Todd Street.
  • Edgewood officers assisted state police with a multi-vehicle accident on the Parkway.
