Edgewood Police Reports: Indecent Exposure, DUI Assists

Here's a look at Edgewood police reports this week.

Aug. 27

  • Police responded to an indecent exposure report after a man was seen naked and screaming on South Braddock Avenue near a ramp. Police reported that Brian Clayton, 26, was naked in the street and also acted aggressively toward a female officer, who then had to use pepper spray to defend herself. Swissvale police responded to the initial call. Clayton was sedated and taken to UPMC Shadyside Presbyterian and charged with indecent exposure.
  • A hit and run was reported on Pennwood Avenue after a car parked there was hit by an unknown driver overnight. There was damage to the driver’s side rear of the car at 109 Pennwood Ave.
  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers in breaking up a fight between two females and a third woman.
  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers in a driving under the influence arrest. Louis Brown had a .188 blood alcohol content, according to police.

Aug. 28

  • A was reported at Taco Bell on South Braddock Avenue. Timothy Rindt said his wallet was stolen from his car as he was loading items into the vehicle.

  • Three thefts were reported at Planet Fitness from the locker room.
  • Retail theft was reported at K-Mart in Edgewood Towne Center. Riley Lamon was stopped outside of the store for theft of a Wii remote valued at $19.99. He fled to Game Stop and was later detained by police.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a driving under the influence arrest. Shawnee Hurley has a .211 blood alcohol content, according to police.

Aug. 30

  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers during a triple shooting at the 1100 block of South Ave.

  • During a traffic stop, Roger Smith had his car towed when police found he was driving with a driving under the influence-suspended license, no insurance, and expired registration and emissions. 
  • Found property—police found a wallet at Edgewood Towne Center. Attempting to find owner.
