Edgewood Police Reports: Heroin Found, Copper Pipe Taken from Basement

Feb. 3

  • Police charged Shawn Grenke with possession of heroin at the Edgewood Towne Center . Police initiated contact after Grenke parked in the fire lane. They found he was wanted for multiple warrants, found 52 stamp bags of heroin and unknown white pills. The vehicle was towed.
  • Police assisted the Eat N’ Park manager with removing a broken key from the door.

Feb. 4

  • police assisted officers with a disorderly man refusing to leave a residence. He left after police advised him.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers after a man was shot in the back near the corner of Swissvale and Penn avenues. 
  • Police charged Anita Blackwell with driving under the influence after a traffic stop and a breath test that showed she had a .171 percent blood alcohol content.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officer with a driving under the influence arrest after Joshua Feldmiller had a .211 percent blood alcohol content after a breath test.

  • Police responded to a report of a credit card found at the GetGo gas station.

Feb. 6

  • Edgewood police had a car towed after a traffic stop. Shayla Thompson was driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and no license.
  • Police responded to a report of criminal mischief after a broken out window of a basement was found at 115 Lacrosse. The home is vacant and for sale. Police later discovered that copper pipe was taken from the basement and a burglary took place.
  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers who needed help located to male suspects, one of which was seen with a gun tucked under his jacket. They were located and fled. They were later detained and no guns were found.
  • Shonta Hester was charged with theft after an incident involving the Giant Eagle pharmacy.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers in a foot pursuit near Mike’s Deli on Swissvale Avenue.
  • Police responded to a disturbance on Maple Avenue after a complainant said she wanted her old boyfriend to leave so her new boyfriend could come over. 
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers in attempting to find two men involved in a robbery.

  • Edgewood police responded to a verbal domestic dispute in the Taco Bell parking lot over a relationship.

  • Police responded to a disturbance at Giant Eagle after Lawrence Petty was found inside screaming at employees. He was advised and escorted out.
  • Police received a report after a cell phone was found near the corner of Race and Pennwood.
  • Police responded to a two-car accident on East Swissvale.

Feb. 9

  • Police responded to a report of a suspicious male near the corner of South Braddock and Hutchinson looking into houses. He was gone before police arrived.
