Edgewood Police Reports: GameStop Robbery, DUI Arrests

Here's a look at the reports from Edgewood this week.

Sept. 4

  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers with a 16-year-old psychiatric patient at on South Braddock Avenue. She was transported to Children’s Hospital.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg police during a call for a strong armed robbery at the corner of Ardmore Boulevard and Penn Avenue. The suspect was a man wearing a blue shirt with white stripes. It was reported that he ran toward East Swissvale Avenue. Police from Edgewood, Swissvale, Rankin and Forest Hills searched the area but did not find the suspect.
  • Edgewood police assisted Swissvale police with an accident on South Braddock Avenue after a car ran into a tree.

Sept. 5

  • A retail theft was reported at the Edgewood Towne Center after it was reported to police that a husband and wife team were going through the garbage, gathering receipts, then collecting merchandise and returning the property in exchange for gift cards. Giant Eagle is handling the situation, police said.
  • Edgewood police arrested Ryan Burke, 34, on driving under the influence charges after a stop at Taco Bell on South Braddock Avenue. Police reported he had a blood alcohol content of .147.

  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg police after a report of a man running around with a knife near 1108 Center St. with blood everywhere. When police arrived, minimal blood was observed and no one could be located at the scene.

Sept. 7

  • Edgewood and Swissvale police arrested Marque Yellets after an armed robbery at the Edgewood Towne Center GameStop in which Yellets had a stolen semi-automatic gun.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a report of an assault at 1006 South Ave.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a report of a vehicle pursuit that ended with a crash on Campbell. The driver escaped on foot.
