Edgewood Police Reports: Thefts Reported, DUI arrest

Here's a look at the reports this week.

Saturday, Aug. 20

Police responded to 560 Allenby on a mental health call after a man was reported to be found laying in the yard, bleeding from his head and arm. William Park, 39, claimed he had been locked in his bedroom by an unknown person for five days. He was taken to UPMC Shadyside for treatment.

A dog bite was reported at 102 Ivy after an unknown dog jumped from a truck and bit another dog. The other dog and owners were gone when police arrived.

Police assisted the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department after a small electrical fire occurred at the Edgewood Towne Center Giant Eagle.

Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg police in a driving under the influence arrest after Kevin Jermany, 39, was found to have a .199 blood alcohol content, according to police.

Sunday, Aug. 21

Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg police after a large crowd at a football game got involved in a dispute with constables providing security at Graham Field. One was arrested by Wilkinsburg police and the crowd was disbursed.

Monday, Aug. 22

Several thefts from unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood were reported. Click for a full report.

police assisted Wilkinsburg police after a large fight was reported in front of 922 South Ave. It was clear upon arrival.

Edgewood police assisted in a driving under the influence arrest. Keith Smith, 32, was arrested on DUI charges after it was found he had a .140 blood alcohol content at a stop on West Swissvale Avenue.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg police in an attempt to serve a search warrant at 304 West Street with negative results.

A suspicious person was reported at K-Mart in Edgewood Towne Center. Roniece Clayton was found sleeping in her car and advised to leave.

Thursday, Aug. 2

A wallet was turned into police and found to belong to Clayton, who was advised to move her car after she was found sleeping in it at Edgewood Towne Center. The wallet contained a valid firearms permit. Police were unable to get in touch with her.
