Edgewood Police Deal with Snow-Related Incidents

While the weather outside was frightful, Edgewood Police Department was busy not only patroling, but responding to four snow-related incidents over the last week.

• After snow from a neighbor's snowblower ended up on his vehicle, a resident of the 1200 block of South Braddock Avenue called police on Dec. 29 to lodge a complaint. The operator of the snowblower was not on the scene, but police advised the caller about how to handle the situation.

• A gold Honda that was stuck in the snow for several days near the intersection of South Braddock and Allenby avenues had to be towed to clear the roadway on Dec 27 as it was blocking the passing lane. Police discovered that the vehicle's registration had been suspended.

• On Dec. 26, a tractor trailer made an illegal turn onto Race Street from East Swissvale Avenue and became stuck on the snow-covered roadway. Culgan Towing responded to assist in removing the truck. Police issued a citation to the truck driver.

• A vehicle slid on the deep snow in the 400 block of Swissvale Avenue on Dec. 26, striking a parked car. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to be driven. The driver  called for a private towing company to pull the car from the snow.
