Edgewood Police: Car Window Smashed in Edgewood, Wilkinsburg Shooting

Here's a look at this week's police reports.

Oct. 22

  • A theft of a bike was reported at 235 Oakview after a $125 men’s bike was taken from a garage.
  • Police assisted the fire department with a vehicle fire at 203 W. Hutchinson St.

Oct. 23

  • Police responded to two different domestic disputes.
  • Police responded to a report of theft at after a complainant lost his phone and an employee at the store took it rather than turning it in. Police reported that porn was downloaded on the phone in the meantime, and then returned.
  • Police assisted Wilkinsburg police with a home invasion and shooting at 202 Center St. A man was shot in the leg while three suspects fled. All were teens dressed in black, while one was armed with a chrome semiautomatic gun.

  • Judith Callomon reported a hit and run that occurred Oct. 22. She was driving on South Braddock Avenue near when her car was hit on the driver’s side fender.
  • Police assisted with a medical call on West Swissvale Avenue after a man had a seizure on the front porch.

Oct. 25

  • A counterfeit $10 bill was reported at the Edgewood Towne Center Giant Eagle.
  • Police were called to CW Price after a group of three teen girls were causing a disturbance. 
  • Police assisted Wilkinsburg police with a driving under the influence arrest.

Oct. 26

  • police assisted police with a report of a hit and run. The suspect was gone upon arrivale.
  • Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg with a report of shots fired in an abandoned house, possibly at 435 Ella. Nothing was found.
  • Police assisted with a minor accident at 325 E. Swissvale Ave.
  • Edgewood police assisted police with a report of suspicious activity at 2020 Ardmore Blvd., a large office complex. No suspects were located.

Oct. 27

  • A theft from a vehicle was reported at 200 Center St. after a passenger side front window was smashed out of a Chrysler Concord. The incident happened overnight while the car was parked on Walnut. The radio was stolen.
  • Police assisted with a medical call at Giant Eagle after an 80-year-old woman fell.

Correction: A previous post reported that a burglary was reported in Forest Hills. Forest Hills Police Chief Chuck Williams said it was a report of a suspicious person inside the office complex. Officers checked the interior of the building and no one was found. Police received no reports from the tenants in the building of anything disturbed or removed.
