Edgewood Man Charged After Threatening Two People with Knife

Here are the Edgewood police reports for May 31 to June 6.

An Edgewood man accused of threatening to kill two people is facing several charges.

Edgewood police have charged John T. Gruver, 40, with simple assault, disorderly conduct, two counts of harassment, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and two counts of terroristic threats.

On June 1, police were called to Locust Street for a disturbance. Two people accused Gruver of threatening to kill them with a knife. He was released from Allegheny County Jail on $10,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 26 before Forest Hills District Justice Thomas Caulfield.

May 31

  • A hit and run was reported on Edgewood Avenue.
June 1
  • A hit and run was reported on Edgewood Avenue.
  • Two juvenile siblings were cited with disorderly conduct after fighting at the GetGo on South Braddock Avenue.
June 3
  • Two people are accused of using the self checkout lane to steal items at the Edgewood Towne Centre Giant Eagle. Edgewood police have charged Duan Dante Jordan, 21; and Anna Marie Thompson, 19, of Wilkinsburg were charged with retail theft and disorderly conduct. 
June 5
  • A hit and run was reported at the Kmart parking lot.
  • Three people reportedly were harassing people outside of the Wine & Spirits by asking people to buy them alcohol.
June 6
  • Shelby Fullard, 22, of Pittsburgh, was charged with careless driving and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a traffic stop on West Hutchinson and East End Avenue.
  • A juvenile was accused of retail theft at Kmart at Edgewood Towne Centre.
