Edgewood Burglary Suspects Face Preliminary Hearing Thursday

Police respond to burglary in progress on East Hutchinson Avenue; District Judge Kim M. Hoots will hear their cases.

Edgewood police arrested two men Dec. 20 during a burglary in progress at a home in the 800 block of East Hutchinson Avenue.

One of the suspects, Dejon Edwards Jackson, 20, of Pittsburgh was apprehended after he jumped from a second-story window in the home. Edgewood police charged him with criminal trespass, burglary and conspiracy-burglary in connection with the incident.

He was held in Allegheny County Jail, unable to post a $10,000 bond, until Dec. 27, when he was released on his own recognizance.

A second suspect, Michael Patterson, 18, of Wilkinsburg hid on the third floor of the house until he was discovered by police and taken into custody. He is charged with criminal trespass, burglary and receiving stolen property.

He was held in Allegheny County Jail, unable to post a $5,000 cash bond, until Dec. 27, when he was released on his own recognizance.

Both men face a preliminary hearing before District Judge Kim M. Hoots at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.
