UPDATE: Eastern Area Ambulance Stolen from Swissvale Found in Rostraver

A homeless man has been charged with taking an Eastern Area Prehospital Services ambulance parked at the Swissvale Fire Department Tuesday night.

A homeless man has been charged in the theft of an Eastern Area Prehospital Services ambulance Tuesday night.

The Post-Gazette reports that Jonathan David Miracle, 19, has been charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property. The ambulance was recovered in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.

The ambulance had been parked at the Swissvale Fire Department at 7400 Irvine St. when it was discovered missing about 9 p.m.

According to an official post on Twitter from Allegheny County, the Sprinter-style ambulance was fully stocked with a drug box and other supplies. The vehicle is white with orange lettering and the number 8 on its exterior.

A few posts on Twitter Tuesday night said it was last seen on Route 837 near Clairton.

Officials from Eastern Area, which is based in Turtle Creek, and Swissvale police were not available to comment Wednesday morning.

KDKA-TV reports that Miracle is being held at the Westmoreland County Detention Center and is awaiting arraignment.
