District Court: Caulfield Hears Forgery, DUI Cases

Here's a look at the cases heard in Forest Hills district court last week.

Forest Hills District Justice Thomas Caulfield heard the following cases on April 3:

  • Richard Chiocca, 38, of Swissvale waived a preliminary hearing on charges of theft and forgery. Braddock Hills police filed the charges on March 14. Chiocca is accused of stealing a former employer's checks and cashing them.
  • Richard A. Ullrich Jr., 19, of Pitcairn waived a preliminary hearing on charges of accidents involving unattended vehicle, filure to notice police of an accident and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Swissvale police filed the charges after a Feb. 4 incident on South Braddock Avenue.
  • Joel Lamont Corbett, 51, of Penn Hills waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, careless driving and two counts of duties at a stop sign. Swissvale police filed the charges after a Feb. 24 incident on South Braddock Avenue.
  • Andrew John Festa, 29, of New Kensington waived a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, failure to stop at a red light and careless driving. Churchill police filed the charges after a Feb. 9 incident on Beulah Road.
  • Jay Johnson, 53, of Murrysville waived a preliminary hearing on charges of terroristic threats, driving with an unsecured load, obtructed lighting and identifying markings. Charges of failure to carry registration, failure to carry a drivers license and investigation by officer were withdrawn. Braddock Hills police filed the charges after a March 27 incident on Brinton Road.
