Courts: Woman Charged with DUI, Man Charged with ID Theft

The following cases recently have been heard by in :

Emerson Leo McClelland, 55, of New Castle waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of receiving stolen property, two counts of access device, identity theft and two counts of theft by unlawful taking. Wilkins police arrested McClelland April 7 after being dispatched to 271 Cline St. for a fraud report by victim George Derr. According to the police report, Derr said his stepson, McClelland, had been making charges on his PNC debit and credit cards that totalled $2,584.75 without his permission.

Raimon Curtis Avant, 21, of Wilkinsburg waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of theft by unlawful taking. police arrested Avant June 28 after receiving a report of a pearl necklace that had been taken from a duffle bag inside of a home. The woman who reported the crime said she had just returned from a trip to New York when Avant showed up on her doorstep. The two had been childhood friends and she hadn’t seen him in a long time, the report said. She invited him in and later discovered the necklace missing.

Dana Lea Kasecky, 24, of Wilkinsburg waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of three counts of driving under the influence and careless driving. Kasecky was arrested by Churchill police July 14 at the 2300 block of Greensburg Pike after a report came in for a crash. Kasecky’s car had crashed into a telephone pole, according to the police report. Police said she had bloodshot, glassy eyes, smelled of alcohol and swayed as she spoke. She said she was on her way home from a party and had two drinks, according to the police report.

Darlene Michelle Davis, 31, of Wilkinsburg waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility and careless driving. Forest Hills police arrested Davis July 22 after Davis was speeding close behind the officer, who then had to veer to the right and slam on his brakes to prevent an accident, according to the police report. Davis failed DUI tests at the scene, according to the report.
