Courts: Woman Charged in Burglaries, DUI Arrests

The following cases recently were heard by in :

April Lynn Fetsick, 25, of East Pittsburgh was held for court on charges of receiving stolen property, burglary, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearms prohibited. Wilkins police charged her Nov. 16 in relation to several burglaries in which jewelry was stolen. Police went to her apartment for the arrest and also found suspected heroin, according to the police criminal complaint. This week, she also waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of theft by unlawful taking, burglary and conspiracy. Those charges wee filed by Forest Hills police Dec. 17 for a burglary that took place in Chalfant. In another case, Fetsick waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass, burglary, and criminal mischief. Those charges were filed by Forest Hills police Nov. 30 for another burglary in Chalfant.

Shailendra Singh, 37, of Jamaica, NY, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of retail theft and conspiracy. He was charged by Wilkins police July 19. A police officer was stopped near the corner of South Braddock Avenue and West Hutchinson when he heard that local police were being dispatched to be aware of a possibly intoxicated driver who just exited the parkway. The officer saw the vehicle and saw another car swerve to prevent an accident. Singh appeared to be confused once stopped, and police found two bottles of Oxycodone pills in his possession, along with 10 Clonazepam, according to the complaint.

Yasman Swari, 50, of Brooklyn, NY waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of retail theft and conspiracy. He was charged by Wilkins police July 19 after a report of a retail theft at Home Depot came into the station. Three males reportedly took copper wire from the store. Two were later identified by the employees there, the complaint states, including Swari.

Joel Franklin West, 30, of Swissvale waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of failure to stop at a red signal and highest rate of driving under the influence. Swissvale police saw a car near the corner of Church Street and Les Getz go through a stop sign. Police stopped him and he was found to have slurred speech and bloodshot, glassy eyes, according to the police criminal complaint. Police also stated he had a .169 blood alcohol content.

Jason Edward Singer, 32, of North Hills waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence—second offense, disregarding the traffic lane and careless driving. He was arrested by Edgewood police Nov. 17.

Thomas James Norman, 25, of Penn Hills waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence, obedience to traffic controls, two counts of required turn signals, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and DUI—highest rate. He was arrested by Wilkins police Oct. 25.

Ronald Francis Territ, 30, of Penn Hills waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of theft by unlawful taking, burglary and conspiracy. Forest Hills police charged him Dec. 17 after being dispatched to Chalfant for a report of burglary, according to the police criminal complaint. Also this week, Territ was held for court on charges of three counts of receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
