Courts: Missing Gun Found, DUI Charges Filed

The following cases recently were heard by in :

Michael Lamont Moore, 18, of waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of manufacturing with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Swissvale police arrested him March 30 after watching a suspected drug transaction while on patrol. Moore began to run away from police. Later, police found four baggies of suspected marijuana on his person, along with one rock of crack cocaine and a scale, police reported. They also found $213 in cash.

Patrick Liller, 38, of Braddock waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance. Liller was arrested Feb. 7 by Swissvale police after going through a red light on South Braddock Avenue. Police also discovered cocaine in his possession, according to the criminal complaint.

Cortez Lucas, 19, of Swissvale waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of receiving stolen property and persons not to possess a firearm. Swissvale police charged him March 24 after patrolling near Scott Way and Ellesmere. Police observed several people on a porch and smelled suspected marijuana. When they got to the porch, they saw a gun in plain view and discovered it did not belong to anyone there. The owner of the gun was notified and said he did not know the gun was missing. 

Raymond Cook, 38, of Trafford waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence, disregarding the traffic lane, exceeding 35 miles per hour by more than 18 miles per hour and careless driving. Forest Hills police arrested him Feb. 19.

Zale Levine, 54, of North Huntingdon waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence and exceeding 35 miles per hour by 11 miles per hour. Forest Hills police charged Levine Jan. 2.

Robert Michael Arend, 39, of Turtle Creek waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence, disregard of traffic lane, driving at safe speed and careless driving. State police charged him Feb. 12.
