Courts: DUI Charges, Man Charged in Swissvale Burglary

The following cases recently were heard before in :

Gregory S. Kne, 39, of Chagrin Falls, OH waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence, disregard of the traffic lane, turn signals required, improper stop, driving at safe speed and careless driving. State police arrested Kne Jan. 1 on the Parkway East in Churchill after a traffic stop that stemmed from the car swerving across lanes. Police said Kne could barely stand and smelled of alcohol. Later, it was found Kne had a blood alcohol content of .225 after a breath test, according to the criminal complaint.

Todd Michael Lewis, 34, of Greensburg waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of conspiracy with intent to deliver, receiving stolen property, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilkins police arrested Lewis Aug. 1 after being dispatched to the Wendy’s restaurant on William Penn Highway for a suspected drug overdose in the bathroom. Police found Lewis unresponsive in the bathroom, later finding three stamp bags of suspected heroin in his pocket. He later told police he did heroin at Wendy’s that night.

Lonelle Sharr Patterson, 22, of waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of two counts of driving under the influence, careless driving, failure to notify police of an accident, no headlights and two counts of criminal mischief. Forest Hills police arrested Patterson Nov. 18 after being dispatched to 1500 Ardmore Blvd. for a report of objects obstructing the roadway.  There, police found multiple parts of a front bumper. Police believed a car hit different posts and spun. Later, Turtle Creek police found a car matching the description on Penn Avenue. Patterson told police he didn’t call because the car was not his and he was returning it to the owner. His eyes were bloodshot and he had trouble standing, according to the criminal complaint.

Jamar Grimes, 19, of Swissvale waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of three counts of theft by unlawful taking, burglary and criminal mischief. Swissvale police arrested him after being called to a burglary on Aurelius on Dec. 7. The victims reported that the back door to the home had been kicked in when they were gone, while a car also was missing. Two guns from the bedroom were taken along with spare keys. After investigating and speaking with neighbors, police found Grimes and charged him.
