UPDATE: County Police Make Two Arrests in Swissvale Attack

Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a mugging of a woman in Swissvale on Saturday.

UPDATE: Allegheny County police have identified and arrested the two females pictured. They are 13 and 15 years of age. Both will be treated as juveniles and charged with robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy.

County police said further information concerning the juveniles can be released.

Allegheny County police are seeking help from the public to identify suspects who attacked a woman in on Aug. 11.

At roughly 10:20 p.m. Saturday, a 62-year-old woman was forcibly robbed of her purse near the intersection of Vernon Street and Woodstock Avenue in Swissvale.

The victim suffered a blow to the head that left her incapacitated. She is expected to survive her injuries, according to a press release issued by Lt. Andrew Schurman of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit.

A nearby surveillance camera captured images of the perpetrators as they fled the area and disposed of the victim’s purse, Schurman said.

Anyone who recognizes one or more of the persons pictured is asked to call the county police Homicide unit at 412-473-1300.
