Burglary and Thefts Reported to Edgewood Police

The following incidents were reported to Edgewood Police from June 27 to July 11:

June 28

  • A vehicle on Lincoln Avenue was rummaged through.
June 29
  • Hit and run accidents were reported at the Edgewood Towne Centre parking lot and on Garland Street.
July 3
  • Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on East Swissvale Avenue. Minor injuries were reported.
July 4
  • An East End Avenue resident reported their vehicle registration to be lost or stolen.
July 7
  • A jitney driver reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill in the borough.
  • A pack of cigarettes was stolen from a vehicle on West Hutchinson Avenue.
July 8
  • A burglary was reported at the Edgewood Express. According to police, someone tried to break into the store through a vent panel. Nothing was stolen.
  • A 9-year-old is accused of trying to steal a pellet gun from Kmart.
July 11
  • Police responded to the CC Mellor Library after juveniles were causing a disturbance.
