Accident, Vandalism and DUI Reported to Edgewood Police

Here are the Edgewood police reports for April 5 to April 11.

The following incidents were reported to the Edgewood Police Department:

April 5

  • Charles Abram Jr., 26, of Wilkinsburg was charged with careless driving and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
  • Cable wires were pulled on the 200-block of Chestnut Street. Police notified Verizon.
  • Police assisted the Wilkinsburg police with two people sleeping in their vehicle at the intersection of East Swissvale and North avenues. The car had drifted across the intersection and hit a parked car. The car's driver was charged with driving under the influence.
  • Police assisted Braddock Hills police with a bicycle accident. A female bicyclist hit a road hazard and was thrown from her bike on Brinton Road. She was transported to the hospital.

April 6

  • A hit and run was reported on Race Street.
  • A man reportedly wrote on the glass at the South Braddock Avenue GetGo after he was told it was closed.
  • A vehicle ran into a metal utility pole on South Braddock Avenue near the parkway ramp. The driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for an ankle injury.

April 8

  • Police assisted Wilkinsburg officers after a stolen vehicle was recovered. No arrests were made.

April 10

  • A driver was cited with disorderly conduct after police found a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop.

April 11

  • A hit and run was reported on South Braddock Avenue.
