Off-leash Dogs at Frick Park

My wife, six year-old son, two-year old daughter, and I were on a walk at Frick Park on Saturday. Quickly after we began, a large dog lunged at our six-year old son as he was skipping on the trail. A minute later a large Labrador/Poodle mix charged at him, and when my wife went to grab its collar, it went for her wrist with its mouth. Both dogs were off-leash, as were at least 90% of the dogs at the park. We have owned dogs and walked them at Frick Park, on-leash. I would like to ask off-leash dog owners why they do it. They are ruining it for many people. Not only has our time been hampered, but we know plenty of people who are fed up with all of the off-leash dogs. Frick Park is a wonderful place. We are all fortunate to have it. There are two great dog areas in the park, including the huge one on top of the hill. We should not have our time harmed by off-leash dogs.
