The Metro Scale Up Community & Education Campaign is a widespread community engagement and education campaign, kicking off in Squirrel Hill then moving on to Penn Hills, Hazelwood and Wilkinsburg. By taking a “metropolitan” or regional approach that connects city and county residents to energy efficiency information, resources and services serve to advance the goals of the Pittsburgh climate action plan, further regional collaboration, engage stakeholders at the community level, build critical partnerships and stimulate green business & workforce development.  The goals of the campaign are as follows:

1. Raise public awareness and knowledge on the health, comfort and economic benefits of energy efficiency, clean air/water and sustainable living in targeted communities

2. Increase consumer participation in existing energy efficiency upgrade programs in targeted communities.

3. Lower energy use and carbon emissions in targeted communities

4. Develop operational campaign organization and alliance structure ready for regional ramp up

5. Engage key public officials, industry representatives, training partners, CBOs and environmental groups to “tee up” regional ramp up

6. Acquire key consumer data collected from surveys conducted during grassroots outreach

The Metro Scale Up Community & Education Campaign is a partnership of ACTION-Housing, Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh and GTECH Strategies with generous support from the Heinz Endowments. For more information about the Metro Scale Up Initiative, please contact Khari Mosley at 412.361.2099 x4 or k.mosley@gtechstrategies.org.
