Big Oscar News Today!

Heidi comes out of hiatus to share her joy at a new Oscar announcement.

OK, so a few of you may have noticed my lack of posts. I apologize. The whole, 30 hour work week while taking 20 credits thing has been rough.

I feel compelled to duck in and mention two things.

The Three Rivers Film Festival is happening, right now. Please support it.
BILLY CRYSTAL has just been signed as Oscar host for 2012. This excites me, a lot. Since he left in 2004, I've been penning "Billy Crystal Commemorative Oscar Medleys" every year, just because I miss him. This year, I won't have to, because we'll have THE REAL THING. Why is this a big deal? Because Billy Crystal has a spectacular sense of occasion, makes great jokes on the fly, and isn't mean or dirty. He's likable and genuinely funny, and many of my favorite Oscar moments ever, involve him. So...Oscar watchers, rejoice. The Master has returned!
