Illustration Ale

The ToonSeum, Pittsburgh’s museum of cartoon arts, is proud to announce the 2013 edition of Illustration Ale, a robust Belgian style beer brewed exclusively for the ToonSeum by Pittsburgh's own East End Brewing Company.
Illustration Ale is a 1,500 bottle limited-edition Belgian specialty ale created as a fund-raiser for the ToonSeum, and a portion of the proceeds from sales directly benefit the ToonSeum. The beer is a bottle-conditioned ale, brewed with a spicy farmhouse ale yeast which adds nuance to the rich dark malt character.
The 2013 Illustration Ale is also beer hopping with creativity! Six amazingly talented local Pittsburgh artists designed the labels for the series. Artists include Jessica Herberle, Ilene Winn-Lederer, Sarah Miller, Lizzee Solomon, strawberryluna and Nora Thompson.
Each artist brings a unique style to their label creating a masterful collection of artwork inspired ale. Guests can chose their favorite artist or collect the whole series East End Brewing and the ToonSeum will unveil the 2013 Illustration Ale with a special tasting session at the ToonSeum on August 3rd. Guests will not only get the first sips of the special brew, but will also be able to meet past and present label artists, have their bottles autographed, and enjoy the current exhibit, 65 Years of Legends: Six Decades of the Reuben Awards.
Tickets to Illustration Ale are $25.00 and include one free bottle of Illustration Ale from the artist of their choosing. The event takes place onAugust, 3 2013 at 7:00pm at the ToonSeum in downtown Pittsburgh.
