This community event is an opportunity for parents, youths and school personnel to learn more about the local school climate in Allegheny County schools and discuss strategies for providing an Opportunity to Learn for all children.
We will focus on issues of school climate, the impact of exclusionary school discipline on the entire school community, and racial disparities in school suspensions. Participants will brainstorm strategies to expand opportunities to learn for all students, particularly for the most at-risk student populations, while working to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline.
This event is free but all participants must RSVP.
Accessible by public transportation: Buses 71A, 87 and 89
