Christmas Concert , Oakland Girls Choirs of Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts

“Mary Speaks” is a musical exploration of the Nativity and life of

Christ from the perspective of Mary.  Through carols old and new, the

audience will experience her journey of joy and the sorrow.  Two

realizations of the Magnificat text frame the program.  It will open

with Frank LaRocca’s “Magnificat” which captures the mystery and fear of

the annunciation and will close with Z. Randall Stroope’s triumphant

realization of the same text.  The center piece, “Mary Speaks”,

transports us to the heart of Mary at the birth, life, death and

resurrection of Jesus.

The concert will also include traditional British, French and American carols as well as original compositions incorporating traditional Marian texts including “Ave Maria” by Guy Forbes and “There is No Rose” by Z. Randall Stroope.

Admission is $15 adults,$10 seniors and $5 children.  Tickets will be available on www.showclix.com.
