Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect that Wilkinsburg will hold Halloween.
Just a reminder that although it's officially Halloween today, local communities have switched trick-or-treat times to Saturday.
Officials in local communities designated Saturday, Nov. 3, as the day for trick or treating due to weather conditions created by the arrival of weather created as Hurricane Sandy moved up the coast.
Wilkinsburg officials, who initially cancelled the Halloween observance altogether, have decided to hold trick-or-treating on Saturday.
"Actually, today, the mayor of Wilkinsburg decided to move trick or treat to Saturday from 3-6 p.m.," council President Jason Cohn said. "Also, police officers will be handing out candy during that time in the lobby of the borough building at 605 Ross Ave."
