Port Authority Plans Holiday Schedule for Thanksgiving, Weekend Detours
Bus routes with stops Downtown, on the North Side and in the Strip District will operate with temporary detours during holiday festivities.
The Port Authority will operate all bus, light-rail "T" and incline service on a holiday schedule Thursday for Thanksgiving and will operate with detours and special schedules through the weekend on bus routes with stops Downtown, on the North Side and in the Strip District.
Detours will be in effect from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday for about 30 bus routes that serve Downtown and the North Shore due to the annual PNC YMCA Turkey Trot races, which begin at 9 a.m. at PNC Park. Detour details are posted at www.portauthority.org, or contact a customer service representative at 412-442-2000 or 412-231-7007 for TTY.
The authority's customer service phone line will operate with special holiday hours on Thanksgiving, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and its Downtown Service Center will be closed. Transit service will operate Friday on regular weekday schedules.
Detours will be in effect from 9 a.m. to noon for about 45 bus routes that serve Downtown and the Strip during the WPXI "My Macy's Holiday Parade." The parade begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Liberty Technology Center, 2200 Liberty Ave., Strip District and proceeds through Downtown along Liberty Avenue, Grant Street, Fifth Avenue, Wood Street and the Boulevard of the Allies.
