PennDOT Schedules Parkway East Roadwork at Night

Parkway East roadwork will continue at night through Sunday.

PennDOT crews report they will be working on pavement repairs on the Parkway East (I-376) starting Thursday night, weather permitting. 

Crews will work near bridge transitions in various locations between the Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) and Wilkinsburg/Forest Hills (Exit 78) interchanges.

Lane closures will occur as needed nightly according to the following schedule:

Thursday, Oct. 25

Two lane areas

  • Westbound (inbound) right lane closed (one lane open) at Wilkinsburg interchange from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 am. on Friday;

 

Friday, Oct. 26

Two lane areas

  • Westbound right or left lane closures (one lane open) at Wilkinsburg interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. on Saturday;
  • Eastbound (outbound) right or left lane closures (one lane open) at Edgewood/Swissvale interchange from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday;

 

Saturday, Oct. 27

Two lane areas

  • Westbound right or left lane closures (one lane open) at Wilkinsburg interchange from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. on Sunday;
  • Eastbound (outbound) right or left lane closures (one lane open) at Edgewood/Swissvale interchange from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Saturday;

Three lane areas

  • Eastbound three-lane section at Wilkinsburg interchange;
    • Two lanes open (one lane closed) from 7 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. on Sunday,
    • One lane open (two lanes closed) from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The work is included in a $3.2 million contract with the Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc. of Imperial, PA.

PennDOT advises motorists to slow down, allow extra time, and use caution when traveling through the area. Visit 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.
