Julia has also played the violin for three years and plays in the school’s spring and holiday concerts. In addition, she is a synchronized swimmer. She will be in the first graduating class of the Environmental Charter School.

Olivia, 10, is a musician as well. She’s played the guitar for two years, both acoustic and electric. She’s also an incredibly compassionate young girl. She received an award from the school for sitting with and comforting an injured student on the playground.

Both girls attend the James & Rachel Levinson day camp through the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, where they participate in things like archery, rope climbing, synchronized swimming and Hebrew dancing.

Julia and Olivia also both dance tap and jazz.

All-Star Kids' Key to Awesomeness: Julia is the “responsible one,” her mother says. She is self-driven and extremely hard working. She studies constantly and won’t settle for a B in a class.

Olivia is very genuine and empathetic. She is always ready to help. According to her mother, her happiness comes from doing things for other people.

Olivia’s the tomboy, while Julia is more “girly.” Olivia’s outgoing, while Julia’s shy.

“The two balance each other out perfectly,” their mother, Gretchen, said.

Julia looks after her younger sister, while Olivia helps Julia get out and meet new people. With their varied talents, kind nature and love for each other, they are surely two bright All-Stars.
