Great Escape: A twist on R&R

Read a book. Review a movie. Both are great ways to relax alone and then regroup to meet new people and share your opinions with varying points of view.

Whether you’re laying out in the backyard or the river, or you’re fortunate enough to be on a beach somewhere, you’ll need a good book if you're looking to escape.

On the second Tuesday of every month, the Swissvale Library holds a where people get together to share their thoughts and opinions of the book featured that month. The next discussion group from 3 - 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. The book is The Likeness by Tana French. 

If you’re avoiding the heat and seeking cooler shelter, maybe a movie would be a better idea.

For movie buffs, the library has a , where cinephiles from all over the neighborhood meet up to watch and discuss films. The next one is from 2 - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

At the very least, it’ll be refreshing to watch something where the main character isn’t a sponge who wears pants.
