Carnegie Library to Host “Skills for Success” Career Workshops in March

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host the workshops at various library branches.

A series of seven free career workshops will be held at  locations throughout this month, beginning March 19.

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will present the program, “Skills for Success—The Fontana Series,” with funding secured by . Presenters Rachel Masilamani and Georgiana Deming will assist library visitors with job hunting, online applications and resume writing.

“The Skills for Success series was a success last fall and I am excited that it is returning,” Fontana said.  “There are employers out there looking for workers, but it is a very competitive environment.  Skills for Success provides attendees an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the job searching process while receiving personal feedback on resumes, cover letters and interview skills.  I have heard from individuals who attended last year and used the information presented to them to secure a new job.  The program works and can be of great assistance to individuals as they go through the job searching process.”
