Singer Cara Luft Lands at Map Room in Regent Square

The Canadian singer gives a rare U.S. performance right here Nov. 8 on the Swissvale side of the street.

Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Cara Luft will be appearing at the Map Room in Regent Square on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. for a rare U.S. performance.

One of the founding members of the critically acclaimed Wailin’ Jennys, Luft has set off on a solo career featuring an engaging, down-home style, wrapped in a delicious sense of Canadian humor. Her unique folk/roots style has been called “the perfect blend of lightness and gutsy rock chick.”

Over the past three years, the Map Room at 1126 Braddock Ave. has become a popular place for traveling international artists to perform. Luft’s show is part of a longer East Coast tour that takes her to the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts near Toronto and on to the Canadian Folk Music Awards in Saint John, New Brunswick, where she will be one of this year’s featured performers.
