Pub in the Park Hosting Fundraiser for Animal Rescue League

Support a good cause when you go out this weekend.

Swissvale's is helping a local group raise money for the Animal Rescue League through a fundraiser this Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

"Four Girls and a Guy," which includes Chelsea Weaver, Michelle Mehalik, Jess DeArman, Julie Baych, and Brian Krug, will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon in support of the Animal Rescue League, which is located in East Liberty. The five runners will guest bartend Saturday and donate money to the cause.

The Animal Rescue League helps homeless animals receive the medical care they need, providing them with a chance to be adopted into caring homes.

They have an open door policy, meaning that they accept all domestic animals, regardless of age, health or temperament and they never impose a time limit on how long they can stay.

The shelter also provides low-cost veterinary care to animals in the community. Through the support of continued donations, the Animal Rescue League is able to save animals from euthanasia and maintain an Open Door policy.
