The following community events will be featured this month at in :

1:30 p.m., Jan. 11—Monthly Caregiver Support Group Meeting

Caring for a loved one with memory loss? Gain support and education with the monthly caregiver support group meetings. Each month, the group covers a variety of caregiver related topics, all designed to help make life easier for the caregiver. Juniper Village's monthly support group meetings are approved by the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer's  Association and are affiliated with the  National Alzheimer¹s Association. RSVP's are required, with free day care services available.

1:30 p.m., Jan. 17—Birds, Birds, Birds!

We all love them but what do we really know about them. Take a closer look at birds with the experts from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Learn what characteristics make a bird a bird. Examine feathers, eggs and different specimens native to Western Pennsylvania.

5:30 p.m., Jan. 19—Five Secrets to Looking and Feeling Younger

Start the new year off right. Discover the Five Secrets to Looking and Feeling Younger! Dr. Benjamine Schultz from the Allegheny Health and Rehab Center will educate the audience at Juniper Village about how the body and metabolism works, why most diets fail, and how being healthy and fit can help you achieve your full health potential! Join the group for a healthy dinner at 5:30 p.m. and Dr. Schultz' educational presentation at 6 p.m. This event is free, however RSVP's are required.

5 p.m., Jan. 27—Elvis Lives!

Put on your poodle skirt, bobbie socks and blue suede shoes, as we venture back to the fifties! Residents, visitors and family members are invited to dress in traditional '50s attire as Juniper Village re-creates an old fashioned sock hop. Dinner will include hamburgers, fries and shakes just like at the diner, with entertainment by the local Elvis Impersonator Randy Galioto and his musical tribute to the King. Dinner is at 5 p.m. with the show at 5:30pm. This event is free, however RSVP's are required.
