East End Performing Arts Adds Three New Workshops for 2013

Classes are available for both children and adults.

East End Performing Arts will add three new workshops to its popular musical theater classes for kids in the new year.

Two improvisation workshops will be offered in January and February for students in grades five through 12. Middle school and junior high students will have the month of January to explore the basics of improvisation in a fun-loving environment in the Improv Sampler, while high school students will delve further into the same principles and begin the process of forming short-form sketch comedy in February’s Intro to Improvisation.

Adults with a zeal for the arts will also be able to indulge their passion by enrolling in the Basic Adult Acting class. Beginning in April, the six-week course will afford the opportunity to work on a monologue for the first three weeks, and move into brief scene work for the second half of the course. The course aims to build confidence on stage, in public speaking and to enjoy the creative process.
