The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra Presents, "The Planets"

Volunteer musicians discuss their classical community.

For nearly 25 years, the has practiced and performed classical music. Participants volunteer their time, but the group is sharp and dedicated. Once a "ragtag" bunch of musicians, the ESO now auditions new members.

This Saturday at 7:30 p.m., the ESO presents The Planets at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill, a seven-movement suite by Gustav Holst, and one of classical music's most beloved pieces.

The Planets has been featured in numerous films and inspired dozens of famous movie scores. Members discuss the history of the orchestra, the performance, and what the symphony means to them.
